ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Caleb Marais, a filmmaker and photographer based in the UK but with roots which lie in the heart of the Loita Hills in Kenya.
I grew up amongst a remote and traditional Maasai community in a wild place in the most southern part of Kenya - bordering Tanzania. Both the natural world and the stories of people of that unique place shaped not only my childhood but the creative lens through which I now see the world.
Today, I work across the UK and Kenya, partnering with charities, NGOs, and purpose-driven organisations to create films and photography that make a difference. My work is all about capturing the essence of a community project, the beauty of untamed wildlife, or the quiet and authentic strength in someone’s story.
My experience living between two worlds gives me a unique perspective: a blend of raw storytelling, cultural sensitivity, and a deep respect for the people and places I film. I believe that powerful visuals can create real impact, ignite understanding, and move people to action.
